Pricebook Cost viewing (Help in SC)

We are a water treatment company that has our CSR do a preliminary invoice for most, if not all workorders for the technician. Is there anyone out there that would like for the cost on the Pricebook to be  hidden to all employees except to a select few?  We would like the CSR to make invoices and handle walk-in customer invoices without seeing the material cost.  I would like to know how you handle the cost on the Pricebook. Do you use this feature or do you not? We need some help with these questions.

There is a permission for viewing material costs! You can change it per user or per role!

We have it in the invoices turned off, but we need it on the Pricebook so that they can not see it there. We do not want the person doing invoices to see the cost of the material but I want them to be able to create invoices. 

Search the pricebook for a price but not the cost.

They can add the task to an invoice to get the price without needing to access the pricebook at all.
