How to Resolve Employee Not Showing in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with QuickBooks Desktop Payroll where one of my employees is not appearing in the payroll list. I’ve checked that the employee is set up correctly and their status is active, but they still don’t show up when I try to run payroll.

Has anyone experienced this problem before? What steps can I take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

To resolve an employee not showing in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll:

  1. Check Employee List: Ensure the employee is listed in the Employee Center. Go to Employees > Employee Center and verify their details.

  2. Verify Payroll Item Setup: Ensure the employee is assigned the correct payroll items. Go to Employees > Payroll Center, select the employee, and review their payroll item assignments.

  3. Update QuickBooks: Make sure your QuickBooks is up-to-date by going to Help > Update QuickBooks.

  4. Check Payroll Subscription: Confirm your payroll subscription is active. Go to Employees > My Payroll Service > Account/Billing Information.

  5. Rebuild Data: Use File > Utilities > Rebuild Data to fix any data issues.

If the problem persists, contact QuickBooks support for further assistance.
