How to fix QuickBooks Payroll FUTA Report Error

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with the FUTA (Federal Unemployment Tax Act) report in QuickBooks Payroll. When I generate the report, I receive an error message stating that there is a discrepancy in the FUTA calculations. I've double-checked my payroll settings and tax rates, but everything seems to be correct.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, how did you resolve it? Any advice on troubleshooting this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

If you're encountering a FUTA report error in QuickBooks Payroll, follow these steps to resolve it:

  1. Update QuickBooks: Ensure your QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release. Go to Help > Update QuickBooks Desktop.

  2. Verify Payroll Settings: Check your payroll setup to ensure that FUTA rates and limits are correctly configured. Go to Lists > Payroll Item List and review the FUTA settings.

  3. Correct Employee Information: Make sure employee wage information is accurate and up to date. Incorrect data can trigger errors in the FUTA report.

  4. Run Payroll Summary Report: Run a Payroll Summary Report to identify discrepancies. Correct any issues before generating the FUTA report again.

If the error persists, consider contacting QuickBooks support for additional guidance.
