I look at the side bar on the dispatch board after I hear the
notification and it shows you when the job is done and if any payment
was collected. is that maybe what you were referring to?
Do you have this scheduled on the dispatch board for the techs? If not
you should try and add it to the dispatch board then choose paid
training so they are paid for just the hours they are in the event. Also

I had a similar issue with commission being duplicated. I added the
commission the techs receive under their profile and also under the
pricebook under the service then filter over to the Commission page.

I use the dispatch board and go under the technician I need to add it
for. After you save it will filter over to the calendar. Make sure you
check off clear after event is over when you are adding the event on the
dispatch board.
