I'm facing QuickBooks Payroll Update Error 12002 when trying to download payroll updates. It says the update failed due to a network timeout. To fix this, ensure that your internet connection is stable, and Internet Explorer is set as the default browser. Also, check that the TLS 1.2 option is enabled under the Advanced tab in Internet Options. If the problem persists, try updating QuickBooks in Safe Mode with Networking.
