What Should I Do If QuickBooks Is Unable to Create an Accountant’s Copy?

I'm having trouble creating an Accountant’s Copy in QuickBooks. The process starts but then fails with an error message about file permissions. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Any advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

If QuickBooks is unable to create an Accountant’s Copy, try these steps:

  1. Update QuickBooks: Ensure you have the latest version of QuickBooks installed.

  2. Check Company File: Verify the company file is not damaged by using the Verify Data and Rebuild Data tools under File > Utilities.

  3. File Size and Location: Ensure the file isn’t too large and is stored in a location with sufficient permissions.

  4. Close QuickBooks: Ensure no other users or applications are accessing the file.

  5. Try Again: Restart QuickBooks and attempt to create the Accountant’s Copy again.

  6. Create Backup: Create a backup of your company file before retrying.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, contact QuickBooks support for further assistance.
