Materials needed for a job

When a job is booked, we take the materials and put it on tech's shelf and then they go ahead and put it on there truck. How do other companies verify the material has then gone into the techs truck? Is there a tag you create?

Normally this is done through inventory with typically an inventory manager who will create a "transfer" to the truck when the transfer is done, you can put the item on the shelf but this is normally a inventory process from which you can transfer from the warehouse to the truck when that time comes. You have it have inventory enabled though.
