Transfer of Memberships

Is it possible to transfer a membership and the associated deferred revenue to a new customer/location account.  Scenario:  We offer septic memberships and do startups of new systems for builders.  The builder pays for the startup and a 1 year membership. The membership and any future visits should really live on the account of the new homeowner.  I know I can cancel the membership, recognize the revenue and then create a new membership on the new homeowner's account and change the price to $0.  But that throws off the revenue that should be recognized when the visits get completed.  Any ideas??

We are a Heating/AC/Plumbing/Electrical Company and have been with ST for 4 yrs now. We have over 1200 members and life happens, people move, there is currently no way for us to transfer customer memberships to another address while they have deferred revenue. At this time we have to cancel the membership, refund, and start all over. We also have customers that would like to transfer the memberships to new owners. It would be nice to have this feature instead of performing refunds for all the customers that move.

 

We have the same issue. I spoke with support and they said in order for us to be able to transfer, we would have to turn off the deferred Revenue set up feature. This will not work because this would mean that my company would be on a freeze. We wouldn't be able to perform any work. This is a everyday - every minute operation of our company. We need a way that we can just change the bill to "customer" on the membership. please consider this change.

Following.

I have been able to transfer the membership to a different location page under the same customer account by changing the location in membership editing. However, if the location is moved under a different customer account, the membership for that location still sticks to the original customer account. 

Thoughts? Is there a difference between "selling" the membership from the customer page versus the location? We always sell the membership from the customer page and the membership stays with the customer account, no matter what happens with the location. 

Tested this in sandbox and it does not matter where it is sold from, the membership stays on the customer page.
