Problem
The current tagging automation within ServiceTitan’s Pricebook is not thorough enough to handle many workflows efficiently. As a result, managers and CRM office users must spend excessive time manually inputting and reviewing call data. This repetitive task is performed multiple times a day by multiple users, leading to inefficiencies and potential errors.
Proposed Solution
Expand Tagging Functionality in the Workflow Tab
- Allow multiple tags to be added to multiple locations within a service item’s workflow tab.
- Example: The tag ‘New Construction Install’ should be able to apply to the job, while ‘2025’ applies to equipment.
Implement Conditional Logic for Workflow-Based Tagging
- Introduce conditional logic similar to ServiceTitan’s form logic.
- Example Use Case:
- An estimate for a split system install is sold in a tight access area (attic or crawlspace).
- If the parent job’s estimate is tagged ‘Tight Attic’ or ‘Tight Crawlspace’, the system should automatically apply that tag to both the equipment and location.
- This ensures field tech assignments consider access limitations (e.g., avoiding assigning technicians who require more space).
Why This Matters
- Saves time & reduces manual work – Eliminates redundant data entry across multiple departments.
- Improves accuracy – Ensures tags are consistently applied, reducing errors.
- Enhances workflow automation – Keeps job details updated without constant manual review.
- Minimal development lift – The existing workflow tab already supports tagging; this request only adds another instance of the field.
The addition of expanded tagging is a low-effort, high-impact update that could save companies hundreds of hours annually while improving data reliability. Conditional logic for workflows would require moderate development but would be an invaluable tool for companies looking to streamline their job management processes.
