Over the last month I have been hearing I am spending more in marketing, yet my call count has gone down. When your marketing spend is up, but your call count is down, it's important to analyze your marketing strategy and identify areas that may need improvement. Here are some actions you can take to reverse this trend:

  1. Evaluate your target audience: Review your target audience and make sure that your marketing messages resonate with them. Are you targeting the right demographics and psychographics? Consider conducting market research to better understand your target audience and adjust your marketing strategy accordingly.
  2. Review your marketing channels: Evaluate your marketing channels to see which ones are performing well and which ones are not. Consider reallocating your marketing spend to the channels that are generating the most leads and conversions.
  3. Optimize your website: Your website is often the first point of contact for potential customers. Make sure that your website is user-friendly, mobile-responsive, and optimized for search engines. Consider implementing a live chat feature to provide real-time support and improve customer engagement.
  4. Improve your call-to-action: Make sure that your call-to-action is clear, concise, and compelling. Encourage potential customers to contact you by offering a special promotion or discount.
  5. Enhance your customer service: Provide excellent customer service to build trust and loyalty with your existing customers. Consider offering a satisfaction guarantee or a referral program to encourage your customers to refer you to their friends and family.
  6. Explore innovative marketing channels: Consider exploring innovative marketing channels to reach a wider audience. For example, you could start a social media campaign, launch an email marketing campaign, or invest in online advertising.
  7. Analyze your competitors: Analyze your competitors to see what they are doing differently. Consider adopting some of their marketing strategies or identifying ways to differentiate your business from theirs.
  8. Think outside the box: In this day and age we need to think outside the box. Do something you have not done in a while. Sponsor a baseball team, sponsor a class trip for school children, provide a scholarship to trade school. Do something you have never done or have done in the past but because of modern techniques and practices you have let that marketing go by the wayside.

By taking these actions, you can improve your marketing strategy and reverse the trend of decreasing call counts. Remember to regularly monitor and evaluate your marketing efforts to ensure that you are continuously improving and adapting to changing market conditions. Being proactive vs. reactive = higher profits.
