We have discovered a calculation inaccuracy in the Tax Zone Report (which we love the layout of) where the column titled "Taxable Sales" does NOT pull the information from the actual taxable sales on the invoices - it pulls it from the "subtotal" section of the invoice, not the "taxable subtotal" of the invoice. I have tried to work with tech support on this issue, and was told that it is calculating correctly when I explained that it is in fact not, and proved it with my reports.
I have not been able to get another sales tax report set up in the way this legacy tax zone report is set up - which would work beautifully if only it calculated the taxable sales correctly. Can ANYONE help us? This is a big problem for our company and the State has come after us because our taxes were not correct due to this reporting inaccuracy. Now we have to spend hours of company time trying to find the inaccuracies each month so we can report the correct sales tax amounts to the state. This is really awful. Can someone please help?
If others are having this issue will you chime in?

Hi Kace! My name is Nathan, and I want to assist with your inquiry above.
As you noted, there is a discrepancy in the reporting of the Legacy report Tax Zone Report. In order to get you all the proper data, and move away from the Legacy reports, I was able to create a new 2.0 report that functions in the same manner, but it has an updated calculation algorithm. In other words, you can trust it's accuracy!
The report has been designed to mimic the Legacy report, in terms of information provided, but the data is more granular - it can be drilled down to show specifics, while also summing the totals at the bottom for each Tax Zone section specifically:
You can access the report by going to the Reports tab and Searching for "Tax Zone Reports 2.0" or, you can use this link 🙂 https://go.servicetitan.com/#/new/reports/46883443
Let me know if there is anything else we can assist with, or if you have any additional questions regarding this reporting!
Best,

Hi Nathan,
Thanks so much for taking a look at this! I pulled the Tax Zone Report 2.0 and saw that it is still inaccurate. I've attached an example where the report states that the "Taxable Total" is $421, and when you reference the invoice the "Taxable Subtotal" is $379.90. If you compare the tax amounts - those are correct. The issue is that we are reporting the "Taxable Total" to the state, and they are telling us we owe them more money, which we don't because the tax on the actual invoice is being calculated correctly. We have to find these inaccuracies every month and it makes the Tax Zone Report inaccurate and unreliable. Please advise.
Best,
~Kace
