Okay, I am now the Lead/manager for dispatching. i would like to know what are other company's doing to keep the drive time to the minimum. Right now when i look at our board drive time for the whole day is at least under 45mins.. "use to be longer ?"

Drive time was more close to 1hr, there are some techs that just live farther but need to be brought to town to have opportunities on the board and sales, i try to keep them close to the highway for those techs. What are other company's doing to make it easier for dispatch and the CSR's that has to book these calls. by location or by Zip ?, Ext..

I ALWAYS use the map to see where the appointment is going to be. I start out by zip code but sometimes zip code areas are so big, that the location is actually closer to another area. I use to use a system that mapped out everything and the map and line route for techs were shown. This feature is something i have requested with ST. IT is SO SO helpful
