I contacted support by text today to find out how to add an Optional line item to an estimate. I was told there was not a way to add an optional item that would not be included in the estimate total until the client check marked it as approved.
This was something that would be very nice to have (it was available in our old software). We send many estimates where there might be one or two different optional items the client can add when they approve the estimate. For us this saves us time, and would also eliminate the client getting confused by receiving multiple quotes for the same job, each one with a different total.
The ST customer service rep suggested posting this needed feature here to see if other ST users would like this feature.

This would really help us too! Right now, we have a separate item in the Service Pricebook called AA or Additional Alternate. I put the name and price of the optional service in the description box and $0.00 in the unit price box.
After the client makes their final decision, I go back in and add or remove the additional alternate price so the estimate reflects the true final price.
This adds unnecessary steps to the process when it seems like a simple feature to integrate.
