Hi everyone, I’m seeing QuickBooks Payroll Error 15409 when trying to process payroll. The error suggests there might be an issue with payroll service or security settings. Has anyone dealt with this issue? What steps did you take to fix it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

QuickBooks Payroll Error 15409 typically occurs when updating payroll or during the installation of a payroll update. This error is associated with digital signature issues that prevent QuickBooks from verifying the files required for the payroll service update.

Causes:

  1. Incorrect Internet Explorer settings.
  2. QuickBooks installation files being damaged.
  3. Misconfigured Windows settings or a corrupted file.

Solutions:

  1. Reboot QuickBooks: Close and restart QuickBooks. Try updating again.
  2. Re-register .DLL files: Open Command Prompt and register the .DLL files by typing “regsvr32 /s” followed by the file name.
  3. Reinstall QuickBooks: Reinstall the software using a clean install to resolve corrupt files.

These steps should resolve the error and allow successful payroll updates.
