For those of you who are using the replenishment tool to order all of your stock: How do you deal with piping materials? Are the techs posting out every fitting and every length of pipe they use? Or do you have an additional work flow for these items?

Our technicians post each fitting they use on the job, pipe is done by the length. If they have to cut a 10ft piece of PVC - we just replenish them a full 10ft piece.

Different industry, but in our case, if we have specific fixed length items we create individual line items for those, but then also have a generic line item our guys can use to sell by the foot. Inventory for this generic item is kept as an approximate sum of the remaining feet in the box. People always cut differently, so we expect it to be off a little bit at the end.
