PriceBook Pro and Inventory

Hello!

We will be moving to PriceBook Pro from an add on flate rate program we have been using.  How daunting of a task is it to add pricebook pro as well as inventory controls inside of ST?  We currently are using a more manual inventory system with technicians writing up what they need to replenish their trucks and handing it in to our warehouse manager.  He in turn submits this to our inside person to create PO's against the job performed.  Is it hard for techs to find and enter materials?

Thanks in advance

Howard

Is it hard for techs? Depends. But you can make it as easy as possible.

For inventory warehouse items, we created our own part numbers that all have a Nomenclature that helps, but also, making sure the descriptions have words that everyone uses. For example, for gas pipe, someone else may call it black pipe. So in the description we put both gas pipe and black pipe. We also have categories and sub categories for everything.

So, using the gas pipe example, we have a category called "Gas Pipe" then we have a sub category called "1/2" Gas pipe," 3/4" gas pipe, etc. makes it easy to navigate if someone doesnt know what they are looking for.

On the mobile side they can either search for the material or go through the categories to find what they need.
