Service Agreements, Memberships, & Equipment

In our field, we often have customers who have equipment that gets sold with their home, and the new homeowner may continue to have their equipment serviced by us. We offer Memberships for the servicing of the equipment and since there is a "transfer" option on Memberships, it would be ideal if when we transfer the Membership to also transfer the equipment to the new homeowner with the click of a button, and it also include all the previous history of service on that equipment. Currently, we must manually input equipment data, and there is no way to transfer the service history from one customer to another.

Would creating Service Agreements, instead of Memberships, help solve this? I could not find any information on transferring equipment within Service Agreements and don't want to go too far into transitioning from one to the other if it is not going to solve the equipment and service history problem.

We update the account with the new owner so the address with the equipment stays the same and when the owner moves then we build a new membership at their new location with how ever many visits left zero out the dollar amount and just write in the notes it was paid for on this invoice transferred from location etc. Reach out if youd like to discuss this further!
