We are experimenting with dynamic pricing on services with linked configurable materials. Everything works as described in the "Use Configurable Services in Pricebook and Pricebook Pro" knowledge base article when adding to the estimate, but we are running into an issue where a series of warning messages are displayed when that estimate is sold and the items added to the invoice on mobile. Our technicians raised a concern because the warning messages lead them to question whether or not they are doing the right thing.
For example, our HVAC technicians carry three varieties of the Turbo universal capacitors on their trucks (Turbo Mini, Turbo 200, and Turbo 200X). As the most expensive of the three, we have the Turbo 200X set up as a configurable material item:
This Pricebook material item is linked to a Pricebook service item and this item is set up to use dynamic pricing:
The price changes as anticipated when the various configuration items are selected and the item is added to the estimate.
If the default configurable material is selected, no warning messages are displayed. If you choose one of the others (e.g., less expensive) are selected, the following warnings are displayed:
