I need help. Waiting to go live and can't get ST to help with some things. When a person sells their home and 2 weeks later a current customer buys that house, how do I get that address and history under new owner?

The same scenario with a new customer calling that just bought this house.

Set up the new account, if it is a new account, then go to the current LOCATION with the previous owner and "Edit" the information to the new customer. You will more than likely have 2 locations now on the new customer account, but all you have to do is "Merge" them. It will not bring over their payment history, but when you click on the location, it will show the work history.

I would like to see a check box on the caller screen that you can add notes to that location and customer history. By adding a new location any previous warranties may or may not transfer over to the new home owner. If ST makes a true work flow if will reduce errors when a new customer-same location occurs and the tech will have access to the history at that location. If the office ever needs to send an old invoice searching for the previous owner and the contact information will be all retained - Thanks DM

The only problem that we see with just changing the name on an existing account/customer page, is now you have given the new customer all of the old customer's payment history. If they were a bad account or had issues, it will then make the new customer look bad or if the previous customer calls in wanting copies of invoices, where are they? We set up the new account, change the location to them, merge the locations, then on the old account, I would go into their address and put "Moved - Verify Address", that way when and if they do call in for work again, we will hopefully catch that. Everyone has their own tricks that they are used to though.

Not sure if you have already solved your problem or not, but all we do is edit the current location/customer page. We click on the pencil on the top right of the page and change name and phone numbers. we never change the address's on any accounts, but that is a quick way that we edit information.
