Why can't I edit an amount on invoice or add a task to an older invoice not batched?

Something strange has occurred this week when I wanted to edit an invoice that had not been batched out yet. The pencil icon is completely missing that is next to the task description. The other strange thing is there no longer is an option to add another task. This is all on invoices that older than 45+ days. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Most likely is due to accounting periods from the last update. Appears the default is on, you will need to shut them off, then go into accounting periods and reopen the period in question (even if it shows open).

Go to the accounting screen, you'll see accounting periods on the left, toward the top.
