First some background. Most of our jobs are created as item groups with materials as sub items so markups apply correctly by dynamic pricing rules (we use this structure when a part number is already in Pricebook). However, this makes it seemingly impossible to report on materials sales prices because they are set as $0 since they are grouped with the service. However, this number is obviously known by the system since you can see the breakdown of the item group price when you click more info. I’d like to be able to report on actual materials cost and unit price so I can get an accurate number for my parts sales. I can report on price book price for sold materials, but that’s not always the same as the price the part was sold for within an item group.
Examples:
Invoice item report: In #1 the material was added as a sub-item in an item group, this applied the markup from the dynamic price rule but shows the item price as $0. In #2 the material was added outside of an item group and priced manually, so the report shows an accurate cost and sold price.
Invoice example: On the invoice, as on the report, the items price is shown as $0. This is because it’s a sub-item in an item group. However, the system knows the actual sold price for that item since it’s shown in the breakdown.
What I need is a report that can show me item costs and item sold prices regardless of whether they are a sub-item or a manually entered chargeable material. Without this I have no way to calculate which percentage of revenue is coming from parts alone. This was a very simple report in my old software and I’m a bit surprised that it doesn’t seem possible in Service Titan. Maybe I am missing something simple or maybe there is another way to get this info.
Thank you
