It’s time for our October Community Member Spotlight! 🌟
For the month of October, we have to recognize @Miranda! Miranda won the Pathway to Pantheon Contest back in March (and she is on the leaderboard for Back 2 Basics - wow!), she is part of our Torch Network, she is a Lady Titans member, she's in multiple groups and she is the face at Red Barn Electric. There is so much more to say about her, but we would be here all day reading this post. When I think of our thriving Community, Miranda is one of the first individuals that comes to my mind and our Community would not be the same without her. Thank you for everything you do Miranda. 💚
Miranda also answered some fun, inspiring questions. Here is what she said:
Tell us a little bit about your background.
After I graduated high school in 2015, I started working part time at a small grocery store/deli, in Camden, Indiana. I wanted to get into accounting, but I wasn't ready to pursue more education. About a year later, the owners were looking for a new manager and asked me if I was interested. I decided to give it a shot and held that position for about a year. In 2017, the owners were ready to sell and approached some of their employees about buying it. Another girl and I bought it and established Cornerstone Cafe. In 2020, when COVID was just getting heated up, she decided to move on to something else and sold out her half to me. I kept it going until March of 2022 and decided I was ready to get out of management...at least for a while. I wanted to find an office job with less stress. (My brother made the comment that it wouldn't be long before I was back into management. I didn’t believe him, but stay tuned!) My cousin in Wisconsin heard I was selling and let me know he was looking for an office person for Red Barn. I told him I was maybe interested if I could work remotely. I took a few months to find myself again and in the meantime found out I had to give up the house I was renting. Some of the landlord's family was wanting to live there. I looked for a house around Camden and wasn’t really finding anything. At this point, I decided to move to Wisconsin and start working for Red Barn, with the hope of moving back to Indiana and continuing employment remotely. When I started at Red Barn, my first task was organizing the warehouse. However, it was soon apparent that I would be more helpful in the office answering the phone and taking care of the schedule. Little by little, I gained more responsibility and a few months into was deemed Office Manager. My brother was right! 🤦♀️ I am still in Wisconsin, but have high hopes of moving back to Indiana in the near future!
What motivated you to join the ServiceTitan Community and what are you hoping to get out of your experience here?
Soon after I started with Red Barn, I had a meeting with our CSM and she encouraged me to get involved in Community and Embers. I stepped in hesitantly at first because it was all new to me, but soon I learned that the more involved you are, the better off you are. I jumped in hard core at that point and now here I am!
It is a great place to help people out, but also to learn valuable information from other ServiceTitan users!
Any ServiceTitan feature that you’re a big fan of or couldn’t live without?
Community! I love having a place to go get help without having to contact support. Also, if you have an new idea for something you would like to see in ST, you have a space to let your idea be heard!
Do you have any advice for new Community members?
My advice would be to get as involved as you possibly can. Take advantage of all the programs (STCA, Embers, Sparks, LadyTitans, Torch Network, etc) that you can! The more you are involved, the more benefits you will get from it! Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions! You won’t learn if you don’t ask!
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy fishing 🎣 🐟 and being on the water when I can! ⛵I also enjoy spending time with my nieces and nephews and my close friends, but they are all in Indiana. A few other things I like to do are sewing, reading, and organizing things!
Do you have a favorite dessert?
I am not a super big dessert fan, but I have a few favorites. I like pretty much anything coffee flavored except for cheesecake. ☕ I also like white wedding cake as long as it’s not dry. 🎂 My other favorite is Chewy Lemon Cookies. 🍪 🍋
