QuickBooks Error PS038 typically occurs when payroll updates get stuck or when attempting to send payroll data. To resolve this error, follow these steps:
Verify Payroll Subscription: Ensure that your QuickBooks payroll subscription is active. Go to Employees > My Payroll Service > Account/Billing Information and confirm your subscription status.
Send Payroll Data: Navigate to Employees > Send Payroll Data. Ensure all pending payroll data is successfully sent. If the system prompts to retry, do so.
Update QuickBooks Desktop: An outdated QuickBooks version may cause the error. Update QuickBooks to the latest release by going to Help > Update QuickBooks Desktop.
