Pricebook: Invoice Issue with Equipment

Hello,

We recently started linking materials and equipment to services in our Pricebook. After doing some testing, we realized that the linked equipment shows as a second line on the invoice with cost / equipment description / code.

We are looking for a configuration or work-around to ensure this does not happen. The technician does have the option to remove this second line while building the estimate, but we are hoping for a more solid solution.

I appreciate all insights, thank you!

There is a feature configuration to "Hide item prices" and also "Hide items" that would remove all line items from invoices but leave the price and summary still visible.

Hi Miranda -

Thank you for your response. We plan to implement Dynamic Pricing once we get our categories finalized. We did remove the 'Cost' from the Equipment as we realized this doubled the price on the estimate; however, the equipment information is still showing as a second line on the invoice.

We were really hoping for a configuration that entirely / automatically removed the second line from the invoice as it is not needed nor do we want this customer facing.

Thanks!

I think this is the route we plan to take, in addition to some training with the Techs. Thank you.

Are you using Dynamic Pricing, or just adding equipment/materials to services and using static pricing?

If you are putting  a price on the Service and on the Equipment, then your pricing will essentially double up.  An option to fix that would be to not give the equipment a price but keep it connected to the service.  You will still see it on the invoice, but won't have a price.  This way you can also update the installed equipment with serial number, warranty, etc...

You can also use Sub-Materials from the technician side, but you would need to disconnect the materials/equipment from the service and the technician would need to add it manually.  But then they wouldn't show on the invoice.

Hope this helps a bit!
