Material SKU and Aggregated Costs on Invoice

We have been trying to follow this article https://help.servicetitan.com/how-to/time-materials-billing which is supposed to allow for use of a Materials SKU that will aggregate all of the materials into one cost and not show the individual price of items. However the Material SKU won't add to an invoice (it doesn't even show up in the search when adding a new task even though it is built into our pricebook exactly as stated in the article. We simply want to list all of the materials used but don't want to show their individual prices. We want it to just show a grand total for materials. Does anyone know how to make this work?

The material SKU task needs to be assigned to a category in order to show up on mobile. I think that's probably the missing piece

I've assigned it to a category but unfortunately it still doesn't show up in the Task or Material list when trying to add items to the invoice.
